Liberty House Recovery is proud to work with a broad network of insurance providers to make treatment more accessible for those who need it most. Whether your plan is in-network, out-of-network, or offered through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or veteran care like TRICARE West, our admissions team is here to help you understand what’s covered and how to get started.
Below are some of the providers we work with to support your recovery journey.
Kaiser Permanente
Clients with Kaiser plans may access care at Liberty House with prior approval. We’ll help confirm out-of-network coverage and referral requirements.
Aetna
Liberty House accepts Aetna insurance for behavioral health services. We’ll assist in verifying your plan coverage and treatment eligibility.
TRICARE & VA Community Care
Liberty House serves military families and eligible veterans through TriWest. We’ll help confirm your coverage and referral requirements.
Cigna
Liberty House is in-network with Cigna. We can help confirm your plan benefits and guide you through accessing behavioral health treatment coverage.
Curative
Liberty House is in-network with Curative. We can help confirm your plan benefits and guide you through accessing coverage for detox and residential treatment.
ComPsych
If you’re covered through ComPsych, Liberty House can help you access EAP benefits or behavioral health services covered under your plan.
Blue Shield of California
Liberty House accepts Blue Shield of California insurance and can help verify your behavioral health benefits and treatment eligibility.
We Also Accept PPO/OON Providers
We Do Not Accept Medi-Cal or Medicare
Liberty House Recovery is not contracted with Medi-Cal or Medicare, so we cannot bill either program for detox or residential treatment. We want you to know that up front so you can find covered care quickly.
This applies to:
- Medi-Cal, including managed care plans such as IEHP and Molina
- Original Medicare (Parts A and B)
- Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans, even when they are offered by a carrier listed on this page
If you have Medi-Cal or Medicare along with a private or employer-sponsored plan, call us at 909-488-7181. Our admissions team can check whether your other coverage applies. Private pay is also available.
If you want to use Medi-Cal or Medicare, you can find covered treatment in the following ways:
- Medi-Cal members in San Bernardino County: Call the county’s Substance Use Disorder helpline at (800) 968-2636, available 24/7, for a confidential screening and referral. Outside San Bernardino County, call the member services number on your Medi-Cal card.
- Medicare members: Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or the number on your plan card to find covered providers.
- Anyone: SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) is free, confidential, and open 24/7. You can also search by ZIP code at FindTreatment.gov.

Military and Veteran Coverage
Liberty House Recovery works with two federal health programs that serve the military community. TRICARE covers service members, retirees, and their families. The VA Community Care Network covers eligible veterans. In California, TriWest Healthcare Alliance manages the provider networks for both, but they are separate programs, each with its own eligibility, referral, and authorization rules.
TRICARE
TRICARE may cover medically necessary detox and residential treatment for active-duty service members, retirees, and eligible family members. Residential care requires prior authorization, and TRICARE Prime members typically need a referral from their primary care manager. Our admissions team can help you understand what your plan requires before you arrive.

VA Community Care (TriWest)
Liberty House is an in-network provider in the VA Community Care Network, which TriWest administers for veterans in California. Eligible veterans can receive detox and residential treatment at Liberty House once the VA has approved community care and issued a referral. If you haven’t started that process yet, we can help you prepare for the conversation with your VA care team.

What types of insurance do you accept?
We’re in-network with Aetna, Cigna, TRICARE West, and the VA Community Care Network through TriWest. We also accept many PPO plans and can help Kaiser members explore out-of-network coverage with prior approval. Call us for a free benefits check.
Do you offer private pay options?
Yes, we do. We provide private pay options and can work with you to find a plan that best fits your needs.
Do you accept Medi-Cal or Medicare?
No. Liberty House Recovery is not contracted with Medi-Cal or Medicare and cannot bill either program. If you have Medi-Cal, San Bernardino County’s Substance Use Disorder helpline at (800) 968-2636 can connect you with covered treatment. If you also have private or employer insurance, call us at 909-488-7181 and we’ll check those benefits.
What should I pack for treatment?
We recommend bringing a week’s worth of comfortable clothing and any personal toiletries you’ll need during your stay.
Are families involved in the treatment process?
Yes! We encourage family participation through our family program, where loved ones can collaborate with our treatment team for support and healing.
